Motto: Practice and Patience. Inspiration: Ansel Adams, Josef Koudelka and a lot of coffee. About Hi there! My name is Sergey Smirnov (aka Sergio Smith), I live in Moscow, Russia. In my spare time I'm a passionate photographer though I've been working as a professional CG-artist for animation and movie industries for the last 10 years or so. Here you can watch some of my recent animation works. Capturing a Portrait of the City To me each and every city is a Person. Well, sometimes a bunch of persons. Some of them are dull and boring but others are truly amazing in their uniqueness. Most of us are used to think of a city as a People's Place but not me. I always make this difference: the City with People and the City without them. For me the City itself is a living creature. When I look at the city I always feel like it's looking back at me. So we speak to each other with our eyes wide open. Sometimes I do like the place but it doesn't like me back, sometimes vice versa. Sometimes it is smiling at me and I smile back and even wave my hand in a greeting. Sometimes I just feel it's eternal sadness as it carved in stone... Equipment Olympus OM-D E-M5, a mirrorless digital camera with a set of lenses: a kit Olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3, Olympus 17mm f/1.8 and Panasonic 45-200mm f/4-5.6. The 17 mm is my favourite. For developing final images I prefer ACDSee Pro for it's simplicity and versatility. I don't have a tripod.
